So far, receptors have been identified by the difference in genome or amino acid sequence (genome-based subtypes). However, we have recently demonstrated that some receptors show different phenotypes, even though they are originated from a single gene (phenotype-based subtypes). This may explan some of putative receptors in which the correspondng genes have not been idintified. We are developing the phenotype pharmacology for alpha-1 and beta-adrenoceptors and muscarinic receptors.
We are now proposing "one gene-multiple phenotypes" theory, according to our recent studies (see our researches mentioned above). Plese co-work with us to develop our theory.
